Protein concentration measurement is usually the first step in most protein analysis work-flow processes. The criteria for choice of a protein assay method are usually based on convenience, availability of adequate amount of protein for assay, presence or absence of interfering agents in the mixture, and need for accuracy.
ToPA.nano is a validated kit and protocol developed specifically for the NanoDrop¢â ND-1000 spectrophotometer*. The ND-1000 is a full-spectrum UV-Vis (220-750nm) spectrophotometer with a wide dynamic range. It does not require cuvettes or capillaries making it the most ideal spectrophotometer when sample is scarce.
The ToPA.nano kit is prepared to help scientists easily and accurately determine total protein concentration using as little as 2ul of each sample with the NanoDrop¢â ND-1000. ToPA.nano is based on the distinctive ITSIPrep Quanti Protein Assay Reagent-nano (Q-PARn) which means that the "Protein Bradford" application module available in the NanoDrop¢â ND-1000 can be used directly. Using the ToPA.nano Q-PARn, reagent and the "Protein Bradford" application standard curves with R2 values of 0.99 and above are obtained with the NanoDrop ND-1000, making the ToPA.nano Kit the most compatible with the NanoDrop ND1000 (Figure 1). Concordance between the ND-1000 and standard spectrophotometer readings was >95%.The standard ToPA.nano kit contains all the reagents (including a standard blank reagent) and materials required for total protein quantitation in all sample types. ToPA.nano kit provides you the convenience of storing all reagents at room temperature and completing measurements in about 5-10 min. The easy-to-follow protocol and Ready-to-Use reagents makes protein quantitation easy, reproducible, faster and more cost effective. ToPA.nano reagents are also more tolerant to common laboratory buffers.
